Well I'm back to deviantart after so long. Things definitely changed around here, deviantart has grown really fast with better looking themes and modern web technologies. I still remember years ago when I joined up... Anyway, I'll post up my new photographs soon.

Happy New Year Everybody!! With the start of the year I'm planning to ramp up my collection in DeviantArt, I feel that I have been neglecting my gallery here for too long.

There are a couple shots, well a lot actually in my hard drive from my holiday travel, waiting to be uploaded. I'm gonna flood my gallery :D

Another news, I have created a blog, for those of you who are starting photography, this might come in handy. I'm writing to help those people starting out in photography as well as the more advance technique (in the coming posts). Anyway the link is: www.lightpainterphoto.com/blog…

Killer movies

2 min read
Finally couple weeks break, apart from working I've been watching couple of movies recently. To put it in short...

Killer movies that I have watched:

1. Transformers (Michael Bay)
Impressive action all the way from the beginning to the end. There was not one bit where I got bored. This movie is the best movie I have seen so far. The CG is just incredible and the acting is top notch. Totally blew me away.

2. Blades of Glory
....now this is the funniest movie ever lol. Didn't expect to laugh from beginning to the end...

3. Bridge to Terabithia
A punch in the gut :P ...in a goodway I guess. It turns out to be something totally unexpected. It is a good movie that leaves a lot of impact to me (and the other audiences as well I assume). Man the characters development in this move were so good.

All in all, glad to watch all those movies.

Photography? Well, I'm gonna get out there and take heaps of photos :D

Vista Wow...

2 min read
Well, because it looks good and the marketing description looks good I made my switch to Vista.

Indeed it was "wow" like the advertisement..."wow its full of bug".

For the first weeks it runs well, after a while annoying bugs are revealed.
1. My PaintShop Pro Photo XI crashed a lot, well it's probably corel' responsibility (fixed it by running XP through Virtual PC 2007)

2. Transfer rate between hard disks LOCALLY takes ages. Imagine my frustration when I knew that transferring 1GB takes about 2 hours. I've done my homework and research on the net. No luck, too many people are having the same problem as I do.

3. I got explorer.exe crashing around now and then...

At the moment I'll wait for Vista service pack 1 if I can endure the bugs.

Anyway, that's my "short" review of Windows Vista :P

-------

At the moment, my course has been busy and I also have a lot of other stuff to do. Haven't been taking much new pictures. I'm looking forward to make more portraits when I got a chance.

Hmm...still on holiday, waiting for this year's course to commence. Apart from travelling to Tazmania last month there has been nothing too interesting lately.

I started on editting my photo using corel's paint shop pro, I felt that this is an alternative to photoshop worth a shot...and the price is not to dear as well. Well, at least this is better than Gimp (IMHO) although I do like gimp a lot. The user interface is much more intuitive than that of Gimp also selection feather goes up to 200px (still inferior to photoshop but this is a very usable size).

Anyway, I'll be submitting more stuff in a few days to come. I hope that you all like them :P
